table cameras

What are you girls doing as far as table cameras? Do you think they are a waste or are they worth while having

I didn't think it was a necessary expense.

I think table cameras are a waste of money. Most people just waste all the pictures. Out of the hundreds people take you'll probably get about 10 good shots.

Most people have digital cameras. You can always request people send you the pictures off their cameras.

Only for the kids, to keep them busy. The love it!

I might do a few of the $100 video cameras for the teenagers... need to keep them busy too.

I agree!!! I will have my photographer take a photo of us at each table (with the people at each table) instead

Re: table cameras

I was thinking of placing cameras on the tables for those funny pics people take but at times people end up taking the cameras which they shouldn't so it's a gamble. Overall, I think it's a cool idea.

I think they are a waste-I didnt use them-my SIL did and a friend did and they were not happy with the development cost compared to the picture quality. They said there was a handful of pics that could be used and they enjoyed.

If you really want guests to take pictures-maybe give a camera to a handful of people that you know will take fun pics and ask them to return them to you at the end of the night. Might save you some money

I was considering them but some of my friends told me not to bother. Like all the previous brides in this post, compared to the cost of the developing, you don't get many photos you can actually use.

Re: table cameras

we had them at katleigh3's wedding this past weekend. we brought them to Costco and bought CD copies of the pics only. it was just under 5 bucks each roll. It was VERY very worth it. Yes, some of the quality is off, but we got some awesome pictures. i posted a few of them here:

pics are here.

I'm glad I'm having them, too. It's nice to see the party from the guests' point of view.

JMO - If you are spending a lot of money on a photographer, then it's not needed. Why add more money for pictures. I'm sure 90% of the people coming to the wedding will have their own cameras. yOu can always ask them to email you some pics.

I didn't have table cameras...(because I forgot to get them) and regretted it....because the people that did take pictures..trying to get the pics from them was a chore....only a handful of people gave me pics..

For a bridal shower, or e-party I would say yes do it.

But not for a wedding.. I think that its a waste but maybe make up a cute card (like a business size card) with a little saying and email where guests can upload any photos they take with their own cameras to so you'll have them.

Re: table cameras

I dont see it as a necessary item. Everyone has digital cameras today so I think the best idea is to create an online account at a place like snapfish. This way friends and family can upload and share their photos and you can get prints of the ones you want. With table cameras you can get stupid pics or even half used cameras which you end up paying to get developed anyway.

I was thinking of a little saying or poem card to place on the tables or with the favors directing people to the site.

I'm definitely not doing them. Besides that I think they are a waste, two of my friends at work had them at their weddings and they got quite a few inappropriate pics from drunk guys.
