you don't have to personalize them. i've seen lots of beautiful table cards that just said table 1, 2, etc. they can be tent cards that stand on their own so you don't have to put them in frames.
we're naming our tables after neighborhoods in manhattan. we'd initially planned on taking pics of the neighborhoods and putting them on the table cards, but we'll see!
