Table Cards
This inquiry may seem elementary to some, but it has me stumped... When making up seating cards, is it better to read 'Mr. & Mrs. Bill Smith, Table 7' or 'Mr. Bill Smith, Table 7' & 'Mrs. Bill (or Barbara) Smith, Table 7'? What about '& guest'? Does that make sense? Does anyone have any suggestions? Does it even matter? ....ugh... less than 2 weeks to go! Thanks!

Me too - 13 days! It is the norm to put Mr. & Mrs. Bill Smith Table 7. Also the same with 'and guest'. Both on the same card. Anyone coming together as a couple goes on 1 card. I don`t know about you but I am having 'vendor burnout' at this point but otherwise everything is great. I just hope the weather gets this craziness out of it`s system! Best of luck!

If you know the name of the 'Guest' I suggest writing their name instead of '& Guest' -- its a very welcoming gesture to the unmarried significant others!

Table Cards-- just my opinion...
Further to Valenia`s response, just be sure how to spell the significant other`s name... I have been to many weddings were I was the 'guest' of my boyfriend of many years (now my F!) and my name was misspelled. I appreciated the gesture, but when the name is spelled correctly, I believe it`s a solid recognition that one is really more than a 'guest.'

Table Cards
We went to the wedding of my Fi's cousin last year and I was the 'Guest' It was 1 1/2 years after we started dating and 2 months since we got engaged. I didn't know his cousin well, but I had been at several family gatherings(including her sisters wedding the year before). I was the one that sent back the response card making sure to put 'Mr. Matthew P___ and Ms. Jennifer Z___' so that they would have my name for the table cards. It didn't work and I was a bit insulted.

Anyone who sent their response cards back with the name of their guest, I made sure the placecards read that way as well. It made it more personal. Those who didn't however, had the cards read 'and guest'

I also am doing that. I have made my best attempts to find out who the 'and guest' is. There are, however, a few who for different reasons are addressed that way on the placecard. Sometimes it can`t be avoided. I was listed as 'and guest' at my fiance`s cousin`s wedding last May and we were already engaged but I wasn`t offended. I had never met them and the day wasn`t about me so it was no biggie. Plus my fi probably just put his name on the response card and that 2 people would attend because of course he never thought of the etiquette part until our wedding plans started rolling along. Do your best and then let it go so you don`t drive yourself crazy.Welcome New Vendors
