table # ideas

We're having a beach themed wedding since i grew up at the beach!... anyway i wanted to do something different.

I was thinking instead of #'s make each table a different beach name. ex: Robert moses, jones beach, Gilgo (town beach) ect.

i went to a wedding last year & the & were real city people and they commuted back and forth all the time, so they named their tables different sections of the city. I cant remember the name of the table we sat at, but the b & g's table was called the Bowery because it was their fave place and the BP's table was called Central Park.
I think it's a cute idea!

that's a cute idea! just one recommendation, officially name the table a beach, but also still give a number that people can follow, rather than guests walking around trying to 'find' their beach.

for example--i went to a wedding last weekend, where each place card had the guest's name and their table number , but with a monster movie character pictures on the left side of the place card. then when you arrived to your table number, it had a big picture of the monster movie character from your place card, as well as the table # itself on the card.

so i was table #7 , but it was really the 'Creature from the Black Lagoon' table. on the back of the table's big card--it explained the original movie that the character appeared in, and the origin of the creature!

(btw--in case you can't tell, it was a halloween themed wedding)

i am doing a different island for each table...so its something very similar to yours ...ahh good minds think alike!

im not sure exactly what im doing yet i have a few ideas but im doing both numbers and a place what i mean is

1 Lovers Lane etc....
