table name idea.... help

Hi there eveybody.....

I will have about 20 tables and I really dont want to give them numbers so I wanted to do an international travel theme.....

A france table with a small flag and an eiffel tour and a nice decorative plate with something from france

An Italy table with a small flag and a miniature collesium and so and so forth

A russia table with the small flag and those nesting dolls

Spain with a bull fighter

Egypt with a pyramid

Germany with beer steins

Greece with a miniture acropolis

China with silk fans lantern and a doll

What do you guys think......

Oh and also my brother is a graphic designer and he will make design my invitations and place cards... and also he will have the table name like France and then the translation of I love you in french.....

Corny or not.... ?

My FH thinks that it is silly and my mother thinks it is tacky....

Maybe it is.... and I am not seeing it

I appreciate all suggestions....

I love the idea, but you might want to give them numbers and names. I was at a wedding where the bride did a beach names instead of numbers, and it took forever to get everyone seated b/c we couldn't find our tables!

it's a cute idea... i like it... but numbers should be added for people who cant find their table...

i agree with giving a way to find the tables.

either name and number
or
have a seating chart with a 'map' of which table is which

if your theme is INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL, i don't see how it's tacky. i can only see it as being silly if you use too many items on the tables. remember, there's a lot of things that go on a table.

i, personally, think it would be a great idea

i think it's nice, but does the theme have anything to do with you and/or your Fh, or are you just creating this theme for the sake of creating the theme?

If you are a multi-cultural couple or avid travelers and you've visted these places, then I could see the theme making sense and being less 'corny' or 'tacky'. If you're doing it just to have a theme and it's disconnected from you and your lives, then I can see why it'd be seen as corny or tacky.

Don't kill me for saying this...it's just my humble opinion.
