I want to do table names, but my hall said I ahve to have numbers also. They provide numbers for the tables in gold frames, I don't ahve to use them if I don't want.
For my table names i am using Las Vegas Hotels, so I bought a large postcard from each hotel that I want to use, should I mount it on paper and include the table number on the papaer, or display the post card seperatly, and use the numbers too.

If you can get it to look good together; once the hall puts the place settings, favors, condiments, drinks etc on the tables, they can get pretty cluttered.

Maybe you can do a # that can go above the pic & then once people know where they are going they can remove it......

The Westbury Manor just told me the same thing last week that their wait staff needs the Table Numbers so they can get everyone's orders correct, have the correct # of favors, etc. I am also using table names so I will be using the Table # plus the Name - they actually came out really nice and better than expected. This way its good for them and you have your names.
So, maybe you can use a nice font and do Table 1: The Mirage with the Post card

I was thinking of maybe doing
Treasure Island
Table One
and putting it on a 5x7 card and using an easle.
So that I would only need one card on the table

It looks great, but...
Not to be the devil's advocate, but if the ring for th holder is big you will not be able to see the table number. You may have to raise it a bit so it will be off center....

Fantastic!! It looks great - that's pretty much what I did
PS- I agree with Hearz - make sure the holders don't cover over the Table #
