Table names instead of numbers...

Original post by Nikki_Liz

Just kicking around ideas, thought of maybe doing football team names for his side and hockey teams for mine.

Any thoughts?

I love that idea!! Such a nice personal touch to do table names that mean something to the bride and groom.

We are doing Disney World rides as table names, and the place cards will be Disney Fast Passes!

pretty sure we're doing names...just not sure what yet. We'd like to do places that mean something to us then write a little blurb on each table about that place.

Love this idea!!! I find myself randomly thinking about this topic and thinking about what we could use for tables. I don't know if we've been to enough places for each table! lol Well I mean 'travel' to that many places

We to are having a disney theme, but Mickey and minnie! I found images of Mickey and Minnie dressed as other characters such as dondald and daisy ect! Or we may use our pictures taken with the characters not sure yet :)

I like the idea of names instead of numbers. I could see some guests being offended if they were not at a low number (people get pissy about the dumbest things!).

Maybe you could put the team mascot on each escort card (stickers?).

I know this will come as a shock, but we are thinking about doing Simpsons theme names. Probably places (Qwik-E-Mart, Springfield Elementary, Moe's Tavern, etc.). My only concern is that we aren't actually having a 'theme' at our wedding (more a mood and a look I am trying to evoke), so I'm worried the names would look random. But if you were going to my wedding, wouldn't you expect something Simpsons in there?

bridesmaids with blue bee hives and green tea length dresses would be awesome

I think the simpsons style table names is awesome, subtle enough that everyone will notice but then it will just kind of fade into the atmosphere. I'd wanna sit at the 'Tree House of Horror'

that's a great idea!!! our tables are going to be cities from all of the world which we have traveled to. It's going to be a picture of us then I am going to photoshop in the name of the city somewhere in the picture. the hardest part is making the wording legible so people can see it.

we are doing names of places that are special to us, like Lake George and Jones Beach, etc

then on the back of the card is a picture of us at the location and a little paragraph telling a story or memory about that place!

It would actually be the logo of the team with the name printed under it in block like the name on a jersey .... That's howbit looks in my head at least.

Ah.. got it. In that case I doubt your guests will have much an issue finding the tables. Perhaps you can even match the team logos on the escort cards.

Oooooh I like that ...

That is a really cute idea!! I am having a hockey themed engagement party and I am having pucks as place cards so you can do something like that too

I love this idea! (and sports so I'm biased).

We are most likely going with names of beaches that we have visited all over the country and caribbean, etc.
