we're thinking of using favorite vacation photos for table markers at our beach wedding and naming each table after a place instead of giving it a number. i'm wondering if anyone has any good ideas for matting or displaying photographs for something like this.

Re: table numbers
You could cut 8 1/2X11 cardstock in half the long way and attach the pic with the name on half and fold it, so it would be tent style.

Re: table numbers
we dug through all the bins at a dollar store to find some frames and ended up getting a mix of ornate/textured frames for an eclectic feel. Since they were a dollar a piece we can just toss them after the wedding.
You can do cheapy frames, nicer frames, or they sell paper matts (with a bevel edge) and you can use either those fold out plate stands or buy these paper stands that have an adhesive so you can attach it to the back. If you are going to matt it just remember to sandwich your photos between the matt and another piece of board so the back isnt all messy.

Re: table numbers
that sounds like such a cute idea... love the island tables... yea i would use a heavy paper.. cardstock at like michael's or ACMoore... and print it on that.. and do tent style...
or you can get like shot glass and fill them with sand and put your island pic inside of that if you dont want them to be folded.. that's a good way to knock out some party favors...

or you could go to the beach and write numbers in the sand and then take pictures of it and then frame them for table numbers

Re: table numbers
You can do them tent style or use shells-we did this for a friend's weddign but it was ALOT of work because the shells are usually fragile-ironically the best way to work with them is when they are wet because less brittle, but essentially what you do is make a thin slice in the top of the shell and slide the pic in there. Or just get plain wooden frames and glue small shells to them. We did silver frames from the dollar store for ours.
