table numbers/names

Is anybody naming their tables rather than using numbers? If so, what names? I hate boring numbers, but we're having a fairly formal daytime affair so I'm not sure what's appropriate.

We might do tablenames as well. But something that has meaning to us like 'meson ole`' where we had our first date. 'contact' was Dale's first broadway show. 'Yankees' our favorite team. etc., etc.

We did a Winter in NY theme, so we named our tables after famous streets in NYC.

A little odd, but we are naming tables after years - ie 'On this date in history'...our date is 5/25 and we found some cool stuff on that date

I am doing flowers as well. I am also somehow incorporating the meanings of the flowers. And the table centerpiece will match that flower. Still in the thought process!

Our theme for the wedding will probably end up being 'pear' the fruit vs. the play on words of 'perfect pair' 'perfect match'...and so forth. So After seeing the post about table names, I came up with naming our tables after types of pears, like bosc, barlett, comice...and so on. I passed it by my future husband and he thought it would be confusing but really cool...so its another idea that has just been thrown into the mix. Thanks for the post otherwise I would never have come up with the idea.

Our names were Christmas movies. I've seen names of wines, or places you've visited together or sites you'll visit on your HM ...

There have been several really helpful threads over the last year or so on this topic ... If you post some of your ideas, we can help you put together a good list!
