Which family gets seated at table 1 traditionally, the bride's or the groom's?

i would check w/ your hall b/c when they gave me the layout the tables were # accordinally to what side...like to the left was 'bride side' and to the right was 'groom' side....we didnt end up doing sides, we had family and friends totally mixed in

it depends on the side of the room it's on... byc gave us a seating chart with the tables already numbered so whichever side it's on will be the family it starts with

depends on what side the RH numbers theirs... at mine table one is on Shauns side... so his dad is at table 1... my parents are table 2

My parents are at 8 and his parents are at 5---we didn't really care about that stuff. I don't know if it really matters...but thats me!

My dad was at table 1. I did that because he's pretentious like that, lol.
