Is it tacky to negotiate with an RH you've visited over the phone? I feel like I'm better and asking for things over the phone than in person. We really like one place, but feel that all the other RHs offered up one item at no additional cost. My mother said it's better to do negotiations in person. Just wanted everyone's opinion.

No... I think its fine. I am planning from long distance so I had to do a lot over the phone. Do what you got to do..... and good luck!!

I did this. Fell in love with my RH and called them the next day. Told them it was our dream location for our wedding but just wasn't in our budget. They happily lowered the price.

Whatever you think works best, personally I prefer the in person approach so I can have the promises on writing.

I think they actually build some wiggle room in, much like a car. Almost everyone has gone lower, in some cases almost without me asking!

Not Tacky.. How ever you feel most comfortable is the way you should go! I know I am more comfortable over the phone because I get nervous looking people in the face.

IF YOU FEEL MORE COMFY----DEFF CALL THEM, IF THEY AGREE TO ANYTHING MAKE SURE YOU GET IT IN WRITING IN YOUR CONTRACT!!!

This is true. It's probably better to get it done right there and written up so I'm covered. Ok, gonna suck it up put on my big girl pants and do it face to face Wednesday. Maybe it won't be as bad as I think. I just get so nervous about that sort of thing.

I did a lot of my negotiating over the phone. If your ready to sign with them, then maybe go in person to work out everything, this way you can sign right away.
