Hi all! I am getting married in December at the Miller Place Inn. We LOVEEEEE the venue. When we called to ask for direction cards, the owner put us in touch with an invitation lady who does them for FREE as a favor for him. We got them in the mail, and they are literally the most tacky thing I have ever seen. They are in Times New Roman font, and you can see the cut marks where they were cut. They're not even smooth edges.
Do I call and complain or just get ones made up myself? I have awesome invitations and don't want to ruin them by putting these in there!!!
Totally disappointed.

Tacky Reception Hall direction cards!??!?!
Since they were free, I would just do them myself. If you had paid for them I definitely would have complained.
Or you can just complain to the owner and say that you don't think that he should recommend her anymore because she didn't do a good job on them.

Thank you! Yea thats what I wasn't sure of - to complain if they were FREE! It's hard to not complain because the hotel ones came for free (Danfords) and they are GORGEOUS!!!!!

Yea, I would say something to him. Because that's a little ridiculous that he's recommending her and she's doing a sloppy job

I wouldn't worry about it. If you have the time and energy, go for it but honestly I think it is going to be a project that will really only please you and not really be a second thought to anyone else. IMHO

My hall gave me free ones as well. they were ok, but not great and were no where near the quality of my invites., but with all the money I have spent on this wedding, I said screw it and just appreciated that something was free and included them with my invites, but in the back so behind the band so it wasn't the first thing you saw when you opened the invite. I think it turned out great! GL

The ones the RH gives are not usually the best in quality or presentation wise. If you want something more elegant and suited to your taste then your best bet will be to order them somewhere else or do a DIY project.

I had mine ordered to match my invites bc I didn't like the free ones they gave me. Also, I did my own place cards bc I didn't like theirs.

since it was free i wouldnt bring it up. most halls have set direction cards that are very basic and sometimes not very pretty honestly i wouldnt even bother, most ppl have gps now and no one uses those cards. last time we tried using a card from the hall we actually got lost the directions were so bad. i didnt even bother putting them in our invites.

I agree with the girls. Let it go. They arent the prettiest but they are free. If you are concerned with matching it to your invites, ask your invite person to make an extra reception card.
