I've heard that Tahiti, Fiji, etc. are boring. Has anyone else heard this?
The French Polynesia was my front runner for honeymoons.

I totally disagree that the French Polynesia was boring. We went there for our honeymoon and had a FANTASTIC time. You should check out the French Polynesia board under Honeymoon for other people's opinions, too.
I would say that if you're looking for nightlife, French Polynesia wouldn't be the best place for you. But it has tons of other activities, like snorkeling, island tours, whale watching, shark feeding, kayaking, great restaurants, and of course, beautiful beaches. I guess it depends on what you're looking for out of your honeymoon.

We are going to Bora Bora and Le Tahaa for a few weeks for our honeymoon....I think the word is peaceful..not boring!We know there isnt much nightlife, and honestly, a little boring sounds like a great idea right now! But i heard it is very peaceful, relaxing, laid back.....ahhhh, serenity! Three more weeks, i cant wait!

Going to Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora. Like everyone else said, there are a lot of things to do, but not a busy nightlife.

Same here - I have heard lots to do for excursions but not a lot of 'clubs' or anything like that - My nightlife will be alone with my husband - now how is that boring?? I wouldn't want it any ohter way!

I always thought it would be so romantic to go on a honeymoon to the French Polynesia.

French Polynesia is very romantic, and the long flight really wasn't that bad. What's waiting for you at the other end is worth the long flight, IMO.
We're going in June! It's definitely NOT boring... there are so many excursions to choose from during the day. But, there is no nightlife. You basically get up with the sun and go to bed after dinner, which is exactly what we wanted for our honeymoon!!!
I'm not looking forward to the long flight either (or the interisland flights) esp b/c I am so scared to fly... but it's going to be SO worth it!

My FH and I are already planning how to get through the flights - we bought some movies we're dying to see and we'll play them on a portable DVD player. We also bought some MAD libs, books we want to read - anything we can do to keep our minds occupied.

there is a straight flight from JFK to Papete, it is 12 hours.

I looked into Tahiti...I thought it would be my dream HM, and don't get me wrong, every time I see pix my mouth drops open. It's beautiful. But there's nothing to do at night and its expensive. I went with Hawaii instead. Have you considered that?

i heard from some people who were not honeymooning that it was boring... i am going to go tahiti, bora bora, le tahaa... for my honeymoon i wanted to just veg out and relax... i went to italy with my fh last year and we almost killed each other dealing with all the travelling/tourism... so something boring is just what we need... if you can wait a month, i will let you know how it is when we get back
