Tahiti HM girls... (or anyone that has ever been)

How much (approx) was the flight and when did you go? We are about to put a down payment for the HM (so we lock in a price) but flights are not available yet so I need to make sure they wont break the bank!

I *think* the flights we booked were about $1250pp just from LAX to Tahiti. We still need to book JFK to LAX (waiting for Virgin America to release their flights) and we're anticipating those flights will be approx $400-$450pp.
