Tahiti or Thailand?

I posted this on the newlywed board too but I figured I would try you here as well!

My FH and I were all set to book Tahiti when we started hearing great things about Thailand and how cheap it is. Is this worth looking into? Can anyone give me more information on Thailand?

We are really into the beautiful beaches and a hut over the water etc. but also want stuff to do.... my best friend went to Tahiti so I trust that it is nice but I don't know anything about Thailand......

We ARE GOING TO tAHITI, ON A CRUISE SO THAT WAY THE FOOD IS INCLUDED AND THERE IS STUFF TO DO. i KNOW SOMEONE FROM tHAILAND AND THEY SAY IT IS A BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY, BUT i DO NOT KNOW ANYONE THAT HAS REALLY WENT THERE FOR A HONEYMOON. iF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN WHAT CRUISE LINE , ETC. LET ME KNOW. iT WAS CHEAPER TO GO ON THE CRUISE THEN TO STAY ON LAND.

We're also considering Tahiti, and possibly Thailand (and also having our reception at COTG! ). Another option we're considering is Tahiti + New Zealand, or Fiji + New Zealand. Our first choice was Australia, because we could combine urban (Sydney) with hiking (Ayers Rock/outback) with resort (Lizard Island), but March is serious rainy season around Lizard Island (which is supposed to be spectacular) - it might work for you, though.
