What does everyone think about planning a Tahiti honeymoon without a travel agent's assistance?
I have seen a lot of postings on here about people getting cheaper packages when they arrange things on their own....
Has anyone planned a trip to Tahiti on their own?
HELP!!!

Re: Tahiti without a Travel Agent?
FH and I did it ourselves.
we booked Le Meredien resorts online. Used our frequent flyer miles to book airfare and the interisland flights we are going to book a little closer to the honeymoon.
I started going through one agent but he just wasn't listening to me as to what I wanted. I got fed up and FH went ahead and just booked online.

I am glad to hear someone else is doing it...
did it come out cheaper so far?
Are you going to more than one place? (Bora Bora, Moorea, etc?)
And were you able to get info on meal plans, etc?

Re: Tahiti without a Travel Agent?
My husband planned our trip on his own with little assistance from travel agents.
I did a very thorough review of our trip which provided some details on how we booked our trip:
Going back the next time, we might try without a travel agent but I think it was worth it when we went on our honeymoon because everything was done for you. But I'm sure it's completely do-able on your own.

I planned it myself and then priced out the package -- I was a bit of a control freak about it

I plan all my trips myself, and it always turns out good. You just have to research where you are going, and find the best deal. I went to a travel agent last year for a cruise and she was about to scam me into a more expensive flight. Good Luck!!!! P.S. I would go to a travel agent and get ideas and then go home and research them.

Re: Tahiti without a Travel Agent?
I booked my Tahiti trip myself, but only because I work for a hotel company, and got my employee discount. If I didn't work for a hotel, I probably would have gotten a package deal from somewhere.
