where can i find the straight through flight from JFK...what airport to you fly into???
someone 0on here said they were taking teh straight through

any reccomendations on hotels would be great also!

the straight flights are not starting to July 2005. Air Tahiti I think is doing them.

The direct flight from JFK on Air Tahiti Nui starts in July 2005 and flies into Papeete in Tahiti.

We stayed at Le Tahaa and the Bora Bora Nui. Le Tahaa was particularly special. In response to an earlier post, French Polynesia is not the place to go if you want exciting nightlife, but the scenery, relaxation, and service are amazing!

I am taking a cruise out of papeete but flying to LA two days before and then straight flight out of LA to papeete where ship takes off. Cruise is 10 days long and is worth every penny. Much cheaper than going island hopping.

I'm going next month and can't wait! It will be a relaxing and wonderful time. Going to Tahiti, Bora Bora and Moorea. Any advice from those of you who have been?

The Pearl in Bora Bora was absolutely amazing!! The location was just perfect, if you ask me and the waters off the bungalows were so clean and clear.
They are directly across from Vaitape Harbor so when you want to go to the mainland it is a 5 minute boat ride.
Air Tahiti Nui was great but if you can swing it, go first class - it's worth it!!

Thank you so much ladies i have been speaking to people that have gone and they said Bora Bora is the most beautiful place they have ever been. They said not to stay over night in Morea because you can take a sea jet over from Tahiti and there is much less to do there. They said spend most time in Tahiti and Bora Bora.
Also there is night life in Tahiti but more in Bora Bora.We are going in July so that straight through flight will be PERFECT!!!

Yes, there is more nightlife in Tahiti. But most people I know didn't stay there for more than a day.. we just went in to Papeete to buy cheap souveniers and then we were out of there! I think Moorea is great .. lots of activities that you can do and some cool restaurants check out. Don't plan on doing a thing in Bora Bora besides relaxing because there's nothing else! You can do tours like going to little islands or scuba diving/shark feeding. But other than that it's an 18 mile island with the most beautiful water you'll ever see!
