Tahiti/Bora Bora

Tahiti/Bora Bora

My fiance and I are thinking about going to Tahiti, Bora Bora and Moorea. Does anyone know anything about the nightlife there, or if there even is any? We like to relax during the day but do a little partying at night!

My understanding is that there isn't much nightlife there at all.

We looked into T/BB/M and found that there was no nightlife - everything is done during the day: beach, excursions, etc. So we opted against the region for our HM.

We thought about going there but after meeting with a travel agent decided against it. Supposedly its a fabulous place to relax and stay are amazing bungalows on the but there is nothing going on there at night.

I was afraid of that. My fiance wants to go to Hawaii. I'm just worried we're going to spend a fortune! I'm not worried so much about the traveling/hotel costs as I am about what the spending will be like. Everyone says everything there is WAY overpriced.

My understanding is that you can do Hawaii on ANY budget. I would meet with a travel agent to get some ideas. Good luck!

if you don't want to spend too much, you should definitely do hawaii over tahiti. also, it's true that there is no nightlife. there is if you stay on the island of tahiti but no one does that. the hotels will have shows/dinners and some other places on the island will do that too .. but no clubbing type things.

I know that there is a Tahitian cruise, how about checking something like that out.

I'm confused...Is tahiti cheaper than hawaii?
I thought a trip to Tahiti will run around 10K, while hawaii is more like 5K. If Tahiti is cheaper, I'd rather go there. I like quite nights anyway.
What kind of quotes did you get for Tahiti?

Tahiti is definitely more expensive than a comparable trip to Hawaii.

I *think* Tahiti is more expensive than Hawaii.

We are considering Tahiti also and I was curious about the nightlife (or lackthereof) also.

Re: Tahiti/Bora Bora

I have a book from the travel agent that has Tahitian packages and the one we were thinking about was $3500 a person but it included airfare from LA to Tahiti, 3 or 4 nights on Bora Bora, and 3 or 4 night on Moorea, all of your breakfasts, all of your dinners (I think) and a bucn of excursions like a Tahitian dinner show, feed the sharks scuba diving, a rental car for 8 hours, etc... I figured that even though it would be $7000 we wouldn't spend too much money once we were there.
With Hawaii we could go for about $5000. I'm just worried that once we buy 3 meals a day, do any kind of excursion, and go out for drinks it's going to cost us easily another $5000.
If I'm wrong, somebody please clear it up for me.

Re: Tahiti/Bora Bora

there's no set package for either place. you could do tahiti for cheaper if you did regular rooms or garden rooms. but if you want to stay in an overwater bungalow, you'll pay more. just figure out what's most important to you and work your way down. you really won't find much of a nightlife in french polynesia - besides dinner shows.

can you find any hawaii packages that include any meals?

There are no packages that include meals unless we do a Hawaiin Island cruise, which we're considering. I just know myself and once I'm there I'm not going to want to hold back and I'm going to come home in debt! lol! Part of me has the attitude 'You only do it once' but the other part of me says 'don't be unrealistic, live within your means.'

We are going on a cruise to the South Pacific, this way there is nightlife, and all food is included. We are going on the Tahitian Princess. FMIL went on it this past summer and loved it. I cannot wait to go. We are also doing 5 days in La,CA, we just booked it last night. That way it breaks up the long flight to Tahiti.
