so we are definitely going to make a donation to the breast cancer foundation in place of actual favors but FH and I were thinking of putting take out boxes (like the chinese food containers) on the tables for guests to take home some stuff from the vianese hour. what is everyones thoughts on this? and if any of you have done or are doing this what size are you using? we just figured it would be nice for people to take something home if they really wanted to, plus hopefully not as much food will go to waste! TIA!

Check with your RH first and make sure they don't have boxes already set out for your guests.
I don't think it's a bad idea - I would just make sure you put something on the table that says you are making a donation to breast cancer on their behalf so people are aware of why they aren't getting a favor.

My cousin put boxes out for their candy bar, but they also had regular favors (buckets of chocolates) I think it is a great idea, people love taking home extra food to snack on!

We're doing this. Not as our favor, but as an extra something for the guests. I got pastry boxes online wholesale.

most RH's are used to it and even provide boxes. I think it's a great idea. Honestly, everyone I know says they'd rather take home cake or something edible than have a candle or something as a favor.

i think that's a great idea and a lot of people actually use the Viennese hour as their 'favor'.
you might want to save some money and get little plastic/clear bags instead of boxes with little ribbons that have you and your FH's name and wedding date on it as a sealer.

i would suggest pastry boxes or even gable boxes rather than chinese food containers. the other boxes should fit more things without having to pile everything on top and things getting squishy....
