What is everyones take on this?? Is it ok to include this for the Bridal shower or is this more for the wedding gift??
I'd love to be able to get some $$ towards our HM as opposed to towels etc.

I am doing one for the bridal shower, I think that you are more likely to have people give that gift at the bridal shower than the wedding. I am excited to do mine!!!

ok thanks-i think i'm gonna do one of these for my shower.
How exactly does this work though? Usually a vacation has to be paid for xx number of days in advance and flights usually have to be paid for up front. Do we pre-pay our flights and hold the rooms & then use any of the money received from the HM registry to book pay for the rooms?

I still have to figure all of that out. But I think that you can just put things on there like activities that you want to do, and people buy them for you. I have these two websites that someone on LIW suggested:

The deposit a gift is cool because you can put anything on there. but at the end you get money. So for example, you put down that you want money for a new dishwasher, a new vacuum... ect. People can go on and put money toward an item, and that it your gift. But at the end you get the money, not the items. So you can use the money however you want! It is basically a way to ensure you get money, lol!

ok good to know-i have some time; but i'm gonna remember that.
We've been in our house for 2 years now; so we already have a lot of the typical registry items.
