Taking out a loan..

Taking out a loan..

Has anyone done this to pay for part of the wedding, or just a personal loan for any reason? Renovations, etc?

And, not to be rude, but I'm really not looking for opinions on this - just info. Hope you understand :)

I hate to say it but we are considering it. FH works in a bank and talked to one of his coworkers who reccomended a line of credit. You only pay interest on what you use.

We were thinking of taking a small one to make sure we have extra $$ just in case. If you are going to do it I would start asking banks now. Not all banks do personal loans

I belong to a credit union and have taken out a small personal loans for various reasons. It is usually a painless process because I have my account set up with them. Try to take it out with your bank first the look elsewhere. I hope it all works out for you and I am considering doing this myself.

I agree. I have never taken a loan out before but definitely go to your personal bank first to see what they can do for you. Then before you commit, do some research at a few other places to see what they can do and decide from there which works best for you and FH.

I believe you can call around to different banks to find the best rate. A lot of times in my experience - credit unions have the best rates....HTH

i agree. i took out school loans so it was a little different but definitely start with your own personal bank since you have a relationship with them already and they will most likely approve your loan, if your credit score are good,actually in this economy it has to be GREAT!
