Taking semester off... (question)

Taking semester off... (question)

Is anyone familiar with school policies about taking a semester off. Will i have to reapply? Or can i just let them know im taking it off and will be back in summer or fall? Don't feel like calling right now, so if anyone knows offhand i'd appreciate it.

I took a semester off and I didnt have to reapply. I just wasnt a matriculating student for one semester.

I dont know your schools policy. Check with admissions/registrar or the counselers.

I took about 2 years off from school. I didnt have to reapply. Just like Kptoys, I wasnt matriculating.

Call your school as each school is different

I figured planning the wedding and getting married would be too much to handle if i was going to school too. And having another date wasn't an option.

I know in my law school, students need to apply for a leave of absence (which is always granted as far as I know).

I went to a CUNY school, and when I had to take a semester off, the next semester I didn't have to reapply, but they did charge me an application fee? Don't know what that was about, but my school finds a way to charge a fee for everything that you do.

Originally I was going to take a semester off when I get married but I am unable to do that now though.

I would have had to apply for a leave of absence. Call your admissions office and they should know.

You definately should not have to reapply

it depends on the school...

my first masters is at hofstra and I took a year off...the only requirement was that I had to finish the program in five years...

my second is at queens (library school) if you leave for ONE semester...you have to reapply...not sure if this is true throughout queens or just the GSLIS
