Need your help. I have e-pics coming up and there is no way I can rely on going to the beach to tan. So I wanted to go to a tanning salon and wondered if anyone can share tips or helpful advice - I've never been before and obviously don't want any problems.
TIA!!!

Re: Tanning
Airbrush tanning--where the person actually stands there and applies it to you--is a quick way to get a tan but it's expensive. Tanning salons are good too, but unless you already have some color, it might take 5-6 visits to get really tan. I tried Hollywood Tans and it was really good. All the machines are stand up and the max time, at least in the 54 machine, is 10 minutes. So it's really quick too.

Hi Ang..I got to Beach Bum tanning..they are really very good..I do the Mystic Tan which is spray on but i've been in there beds and they give you nice color. Mystic Tan is the best though..great color and its only 10 seconds

Re: Tanning
Thanks so much for the quick response! I have been going to the beach often so I have a slight tan (it's honesty fading) so I'm hoping that will help. If I go to the tanning salon I'm hoping to get some more color - nothing crazy dark - just to have that glow. (sounds funny) Anyway, any advce on what to avoid or wha tto do to make sure it's ok?

Re: Tanning
First time go for the minimum amount so you dont burn. I tan very easily and never burn, and they put me in for the longest time you could bc they said I was tan enough - I still got a little red.
I would also use a stand-up like at Hollywood tans because you get a better all-around tan and not the crazy tan lines and it doesnt burn your bum and the backs of your legs!

Now that's the EXACT advice I was looking for. Thank you soooo much!!! It's things like this I need to look out for - seriously.

Re: Tanning
QUICK TIP: i've done airbrush tanning many times before and it is a great way to get a quick , healthy tan ... BUT im sorry to burst the bubble but once you sweat it starts to come off -- if you plan on dancing in that white gown -- it is not going to be pretty -- sorry --

I'm also going to try to get rid of the last bits of tan lines I have before the big day. where is Hollywood Tan? I can only find Beach Bum on line. Is there one in the East Meadow area? Thanks!

Re: Tanning
I went tanning three times before my wedding - twice at a lower time then one more shot 2 days before - it was the perfect amount of color.

Great advice - this maybe the way to go for me for now. It's just for the e-pics but it'll be a good trial for the big day as well.
