I NEED to start tanning to get rid of last summer's tan lines and to get a base for the honeymoon. I have never gone tanning before so I am looking for suggestions on where to go. I think I should go for the stand up machines, but I am not sure since I have never gone. Any recommendations? TIA!

Re: Tanning
everytime i go in the stand up i burn. lol. I would ask the people at the desk what would be best for you. I usually go in the really expensive one that brown you. Not burn you. Its like 25 dollras a session but you'll be happy after like 3 or 4
good luck

Re: Tanning
i don't really go tanning that much, but i get good color b/c i got some italian in me, but i'll still burn.
most times the ppl that work there will tell you which bed to go in, most of the time, if you've never been before and burn easily they will start you on the lowest possible bed and go from there. i didn't look when your wedding was but i would def go with enough time to see how your body reacts to it.

im a fair girl...i go tanning like a month before a vacay (already bought my 10 tan package haha)
so i usually do the orbit stand up at beach bum or this place VIP by me. i start out with 6 minutes the first time..and up them every other time so I dont burn and continue to get a base.
being that you get married the day after me...i think we are in the same boat so i am starting like in a week to do 2 times a week and a little more when it gets closer.
the stand up is my fav because it reaches everywhere.
hope this helps.

Re: Tanning
Yea Im fair but I get really tan. Im starting now to tan because I have so many things coming up that I want to have nice color for. lol
First I would suggest asking them about beds that get you more brown then red if you have the tendency to burn. THEN I would actually look into getting a lotion that is an accelerator to help you get more color and keep it as well as keep you brown. I know some people like to say the lotions dont work, but trust me they do. Ive found when I use a lotion I get way more brown and a lot less red.
The one I use is called Line n'Da Coconut. I get it from this site which has the CHEAPEST prices BY FAR! NEVER buy lotion in a tanning salon they charge you double and RIP YOU OFF! Heres the site with the lotion I use: http://www.lotions2go.com/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=coconut Just look at the last one, thats the price for 1. The other choices is for buying in bulk. Plus when you order you get to choose 2 (I ALWAYS CHOOSE WAY MORE) samples of ANY lotion you want. =))
YOu can do lay downs they arent bad either AT ALL. I used to ALWAYS just use a lay down but I found the stand up I got more color at times. But it really depends on the bed. But good luck!

Re: Tanning
I tan once a year before going on vacation bc i dont want to be Casper on the beach. I go to a great place in Whitestone called Gemini. The staff is great and they have some special all new customers have one week of unlimited tanning on any bed for i think $29.99. I am not sure if they still have this but also they have $10 off any package.
I def agree buy your lotion before hand, they charge like $5-10 per packet, which is like a free sample size of shampoo.
