Tanning help!

Tanning help!

So with all of this lovely weather I still have my ghostly winter skin. I hardly ever go tanning but I don't want to be the same color as my dress!

Last year before my friends wedding I went tanning a few times the week before the wedding, but I feel like I came out looking really orange. Any tips on what to do? Is it better to go once a week now, or a few times right before the wedding? Is there a difference between the stand up beds and the regular ones?

I just don't want to end up looking like a carrot again!

I am regularly very fair, I start going every other day for low minutes (I start at like 8 minutes) and then I go up according to how much color I get.

I tend to be pink for a day or so, then I turn more brown, then I go tanning again, get a little pink...then fade to brown.

So in my opinion I would start a few weeks before....but it really depends on your skin.

the only difference between a regular bed and a stand up, is that a stand up with make your sides get some even color and you can raise your arms to get your arm pits, etc. some color.

I use a tanning lotion with a bronzer in it, which also helps to achieve a more bronzed look.

Good luck!

Thanks! Yeah I should probably add that I'm SUPER fair with freckles so I always always burn first. Haha

I burn first as well. I would ask the people at the tanning place. But normally for the first time...I got for 8 minutes with a bronzing lotion...then I wait 24 hours (your body tans for 24 hours) and see how I look, if I am sore or RED, then I wait until I am no longer sore or no longer RED....then I go again and increase by 2 minutes....and repeat the process of waiting and evaluating my redness.

Once I get my bronzesness I can go everyday if I want. Also, there is a specific indoor lotion, called Celebrity which is a special occasion bronzer to use the day before a special event...which really helps.

Just beware when using a bronzing lotion, you shouldn't take a shower after you tan and your sheets may stain (I've never had this happen....but it's just a warning).

I usally go often depending on occiason and stuff. But i would say if your fair to start off with low mintues and gradually upgrade. I usually perfer the bed onlys bc in the stand ups I feel I come out looking like a tomatoe and I have olive color skin to begin with. I would say maybe 2 times a week for like 8 mins and then the week before your wedding go to 10 mins.
