I'm not an avid tanning salon patron so I have no idea how this goes...
I don't want to look pasty for the wedding. I want to look sunkissed! So how far in advance do I need to start the tanning process? How many visits do you need?

Re: Tanning question...
I'm pretty pale and I started tanning about a month ago (still a month to go) - I would say start 2 months before....gives your skin time to get a base tan and 'heal' (I've been burning even though I go tanning with spf 15!!! - those bulbs are powerful)

Re: Tanning question...
I was thinking of getting the airbrushing done.. I hear that Panace Plus in Huntington has someone there that does it for a reasonable price and uses the top quality stuff.. I don't think I will be going tanning in a UV bed, it damages the skin too much..

Re: Tanning question...
i started two weeks ago and I was pale. I have really nice color right now. I would be happy with this much color on my wedding day. I went like 3 or 4 times in two weeks.

I would say one month before. Spread out your sessions with a few days inbetween. Buy some lotion from the tanning salon. Start off with a low amount of minutes for the first few times and then increase the time you are in there.

Re: Tanning question...
I have olive skin and I tan nicely....I have been tanning for 2 weeks and have nice color.....I go maybe 3 times a week....Be sure you don't leave straps for bra or bathing suit up because they are so hard to get rid of.....It happened to me for my sister's wedding.....

Re: Tanning question...
I'm glad this question was asked because I wanted to know too. I'm really pale and burn easily, plus skin cancer runs in my family so I have never been to a tanning salon. But I get such a farmer's tan in the summer, I'll look ridiculous in my strapless dress if I don't go tanning to try and even it out a bit.
Thanks for the info!

You should try the mist tan, I hear it's awesome! I go tanning once a week. More than that and I get too orange. XOXOXO Kitty

Re: Tanning question...
I started goin about a month before the weddng. It depends on your skin-I went about 6 times. You can go to a local salon and they'll tell you if you let them know what you want.

Re: Tanning question...
My ex owned a tanning salon so I think I can help ya... I would say a month before the wedding.. The first time you go tanning.. go for only 10 minutes with tripple bronzing lotion.. then go 2 days later for another 10 minutes..then about 3 days later for about 12 minutes.. all with the tripple bronzing lotion. then once a week for 12- 15 minutes with tripple bronzing lotion. I hope that helps.

Re: Tanning question...
Does anyone notice the tanning salon/bed making their skin break out? I am so curious about this. DH goes to a salon that is 'non UV'...if that's even true. He looks great.
Edit: I didn't even go for my wedding but I'm pretty fair, and the day of, Oksana did my makeup so beautifully that I had a really nice glow....but I definitely should have thought about going!

Re: Tanning question...
May I recommend trying tanning wipes by Loreal. They are great and and fast and are of no danger to your skin. You can start one week before the wedding and be fine. I love them. The only thing is that you will need some help to get your back, but you end up with a great even glow.
