tanning salon question

can you really 'not' wear SPF when tanning at a tanning salon? is it really not a good thing or is it just not good for their tanning bed?

I never wore anything with an SPF... usually just a bronzer. I used to use 'hot chocolate' bronzer

I have not gone tanning in a very long while, but last time I went I got Swedish Beauty. I think the new one is called Browning Syrup, but it has the same stuff as the one I used to use.

Also the Australian gold products are pretty good too. I am really pale & have sensitive skin, and I did not burn or breakout from those.
