Okay, I'm a week away, I need more color and was planning on hitting the tanning salon. I just want a little golden color, nothing crazy. Is this accomplishable with only a week to go? I don't want to burn either! Is there a specific lotion or bed I should use?
Thanks!

Re: Tanning Salon question
Consider Airbrush tanning. Not only is it safer, but I think it would give you a more even golden tan.

Re: Tanning Salon question
either do the airbrush tanning which of course is safer or I would do the stand up booth for 6 minutes.

Re: Tanning Salon question
I was wondering the same thing... I would try airbrush, but I'm really paranoid about looking too unnatural and I don't want to experiment right before the wedding... There's a Hollywood Tans right by my apartment and there's some 8-minute stand-up bed, and then some 11-minute one. How soon before the wedding should I go if I only want to go once to get a liiiitle bit of color??

You can def. get some color for the wedding. My only advice (passed along from my makeup person) is not to tan too close to the wedding day. It will be harder to match up your skin color if you've just tanned the day before. Your skin wont a natural color and it might be hard to make the foundation match up.

if you are really pale, i'd skip it...you could be lobster red at this point...too close.

Thats a good tip. Thanks for sharing.

Re: Tanning Salon question
I was half asleep but FOX news (which I usually don't watch) had a report the other night that the spray tanning actually has a lot of toxins in it.....lead, mercury, etc and that tanning places lie and say it's safe.
just a heads-up to maybe do more research on the safety. I'm certainly not an expert, but just wanted to mention that i had heard concerns about it.

Thanks. I planned to go tonight or tomorrow, Sunday and then Tuesday, which would land me about three days before the wedding to give time for the color to set, kind of. If that makes any sense.

Re: Tanning Salon question
Spray tanning!!! But go somewhere where a person sprays you, not a machine. Allow yourself about 3 days before your event. (It lasts for a about a week). The first day you have sooooooooo much color, by the third you are golden. You can't shower for a day after you do, it smells a little and is slightly tacky, but it doesn't rub off on your clothes and is very even. I go to Feel Well spa in Wantagh on Wantagh Avenue. 1 session is $35.

Re: Tanning Salon question
I went to Hollywood Tans 3 days before my wedding. I wanted to have a healthy glow even though I had some color...I was in the stand up for 8 minutes & it did the trick. If you look at my pictures, I don't look too tan & it was just enough to give me the extra glow!
