Ok...I'd like to get a little color before the wedding, and I was talking to the girl at the salon over the weekend. They have the spray tans, but being that my wedding is on a Saturday and I am leaving on Wednesday, I would only be able to do it the weekend before and they think it will be faded by then. One girl sugested a tanning salon. I am very nervous about them. I have only used them once or twice in my life, before I knew they caused Cancer. So my question is, if I go once a week for 3 weeks, how bad will that be? The girl claims that it will be just enough for a little color, and that as long as I don't burn I will be ok...thoughts? Comments? Are any of you doing a tanning salon?

I tan. I know its bad for you but I dont do it regularly so hopefully it wont have too many lasting effects. Why not do the spray tan and then see if they can recommend a good self tanner. But you should try the self-tanner out before your wedding just to make sure it doesnt leave you orangey.

Well since the wedding is so close, I've been going about 2x week for the past month. Other than that I only go when I have someplace to go or Im feeling very pasty, lol. Just be careful with spray tans. You need to make sure you are completely covered in the lotion they provide for you, esp your feet and hands or the lines/wrinkes will look darker.

Well it depends on your normal skin tone. But you should be able to get some color. Start out in a lower level bed and then go into something a bit more powerful once you get a base.

Thanks. I'll do that. I have a slight base. Went to the beach once this summer, and burned on my stomach and chest. My arms are pretty gold, and my legs are just average. How long should I do? Like 10-15 min?

do not go for 20 minutes your first time! Do you tan well? I always burn in the beginning so I started with 5 minutes and now I'm up to 10, I dont' think I'll go longer than that. I'm only doing it so I don't look like a burn victim on my HM

That's good to know! I burned this summer. I used to tan easily, but I haven't seen the sun in years! Thanks for the heads up!
