A little pricey and always packed but a good time. Great food and awesome drinks...
Have fun!

Re: Tao Restaurant?
The food and decor are amazing. The only warnings is that it is always mega crowded. Even when you have a reservation you end up waiting by the bar area. If you don't mind being squished into the small bar space until you are seated, the food is worth the wait. Oh, and it's also pretty loud, so if you want to have a serious conversation without saying 'what?' a thousand times, it's probably not the best place.

It's one of those places that you have to go once to. It's crowded, loud and expensive. But it is an experience and everything there is high quality and top notch.

It's awesome...I work accross the street and go for work lunches all the time. Plus I celebrated my 25th b-day there. The prix fix lunch ($20.05) is the BEST thing on earth...so worth it! Definitely do the lunch, the regular menu is outrageous.

The owner is a client at my husband's firm. They all went one time expecting models, but ended up being disappointed. It is what it is: a trendy NYC restaurant. I think he said the food was good though.

It's fun. The food is actually really good and not THAT expensive in terms of NYC. It is crowded and it can be loud, but if you're with a fun group of people you will have a good time.

I have a better idea - we can go back to your house with the stripper so Eff can join the celebration
ETA - BTW, did I tell you what Jo wanted to do?

I like it a lot. It is right near my job. If your ever in the city they have a lunch special, three courses for $20.05. Like restaurant week, they raise it a penny to match the year, but they do it mostly all year. I love their salad. It won't hurt to try it out for $20 bucks (that's without drinks)

Re: Tao Restaurant?
Like someone else said, it's a typical 'trendy' place - so the decor is cool, it's super crowded, and the food is not all that impressive. But then again, I'm very hard to please. I also personally don't enjoy meals when I have to shout to someone sitting next to me. It's just so loud. And when you go to the bathroom, you bump into waiters, tables, chairs.....it's just not a very pleasant experience. That being said, I can see how it's considered a very cool place, based on the decor and popularity. It's all a matter of personal taste.

It's very good. Definitely try the duck spring roll appetizer if you go
ETA: I went for lunch once and it wasn't that crowded, like it is at night. If that's something you're worried about, daytime might be better.

My brother and his FI are always talking about it, and they're real foodies, so it must be good!
