everyone is talking about putting tape on their windows in preparation for Irene - um? ho will tape save your windows? if its going to get busted the tape won't hold it together.
am i just stupid or am i missing something here?

i believe that it does something to reinforce them?? i dont know exactly what it does but i know that it is supposed to help with breakage

is anyone putting plywood on their windows?
i just read online that all the tape will do its, if your lucky, hold the shards of glass together so they don't go flying everywhere once it breaks.

Ive taped my windows in florida before. I hear its to help in case they do break or crack they will stay intact instead of getting glass all over the place. I don't think you have to tape your windows .

This. I heard them talking about it on the news this morning - saying that taping your windows serves absolutely no purpose

poeople are getting out o control nuts with all this... freaking out is not going to prevent anything, and its not like its a CAT5...ughhh people are cancelling today bc of hurricane. its rather annoying

I'm only taping my sliding door, my manager used to live in florida and said it helps hold the pieces together if the glass does break. I'm clueless when it comes to this kind of stuff, but there are no houses next to my balcony, just a HUGE open space right by a lake and not far from the water.
