Target Registry Brides...

Target Registry Brides...

Did you know that they will not do returns of any sort without a receipt? Not even store credit/gift cards?

I was told the same thing about exchanges by one of the employees there as well.

Did you think of that or know about it before registering there?
Do you think enough people give gift receipts?

I would HATE to be 'stuck' with 2 of something simply b/c we didn't get a gift receipt and i'd hate to have to ask someone to get one for me....

I know that the receipt thing is a rule most stores have, mine included, however I was under the impression that if you are registered with a company they are a little more lenient.

Especially Target...since their registry system still has a few bugs and a lot of times things do not get removed from the registry for a few days after it's purchased.

If you didn't know any of this, do you still plan on keeping the registry? Or do you think you should delete it and make a new one?

FH and I are registered at Fortunoff and Target... i think we'll be deleting Target and registering at BBB

ETA: This is an email from Target about their return policy...

Thank you for choosing to register at Target and for taking the time to contact us about our return policy.

Returns at Target are easy with a receipt dated within 90 days of purchase. As a registrant, we'll allow you to return your gift registry item up to 60 days after your event date if your receipt is expired. I'm sorry that we aren't able to return items without a receipt.

If you don't have a receipt, we still have a few options for you:

- Your Target store will accommodate two no receipt returns a year for you on small gifts under $20.
- We have the ability to look up a receipt's information for the gift giver, so they can make a return on most purchases, provided they purchased your item with a check, Target GiftCard, credit or debit card within the past 90 days.
- If the gift giver still has the original receipt for the item, they have the ability to reprint a gift receipt at the Guest Service desk next time they visit Target.

We're always glad to hear from you, so if you have any further questions or comments, give us a call at (800) 888-9333. You can also check with a Guest Services Team Lead at your store, or visit us on Target.com. Any way you choose, we're here to help!

We hope to see you again soon at Target.

Sincerely,

Glenn

Re: Target Registry Brides...

SO here's my story with Target....

My family out in Arizona gave me a shower when I was out there in August. My aunt got me one of our corningware sets that were on our registry. Well it was too big to take on the plane with us and it cost too much to ship home so we figured we would just return it there and then rebuy it when we got home. Well something was wrong with the gift receite (it wouldn't read the barcode) and so they said I needed the original receite to return it even though it was on my registry.

Well, needless to say, my grandma out in AZ is STILL dealing with them b/c they refuse to even give me a store credit! Thats all I want!

I was not aware of that - no....

my shower is next weekend - so i guess i'll find out the hard or easy way with what happens... I would like to think that if you had something purchased from your regsitry - it's in some sort of database...so a return wouldn't be a HUGE deal...

I'm kinda ticked off by that really!

wow, that is terrible! We actually had really wanted to register at target in addition to BBB till i found out from posting on here all the problems people had. We did do BBB yesterday and the people there were unbelievably nice and helpful. I couldnt imagine getting the same service and attention at target. oh well.

Re: Target Registry Brides...

We are pulling our target registry and resgistering at BBB because of their awful return policy. We already had some issues returning because of the e-party and their return policy. When we registered the woman who gave us the 'laser gun' told us that we can get credit for anything on our registery,,,, when we tried to they said NOOOO so we ( meaning Me!) caused a fuss the day after when we saw her in the day time.... still got no where

We registered with target. Now that all you girls have been talking about all the problems with them, I think I should register somewhere else.

OMG, that's just not a good way to do business. We're registered at Fortuneoff and Target, but now I'm thinking we should do BBB instead of Target. Thanks for the info!

My sister had a lot of the same problems and so did a friend of mine.

Are you registered at BBB where they carry the same set? If so call them and tell them your problems -- sometimes another store will help you out when competition isn't being helpful!
