Tarnished Bridesmaids gifts- Help!

I bought some really nice bridesmaids gifts last January when The Knot was having a sale. I purchased 2 keychains, a bracelet & a pair of earrings for the flowergirl. I just opened the packages again to take a look and they are tarnished!!! How do I clean them? And if I clean them now, will they tarnish again before March? Or when they are using them?

I am so angry!

I would write or call the knot and find out why this happened. It shouldnt happen...

Call a jeweler and ask what they recommend. If they're tarnished- I would THINK you'd have to use silver polish (what people use for their good silverware). Don't panic- I'm sure it's just a matter of being polished! Good luck!

Are they silver plated? Then they will tarnish, that just happens. Just get some silver cream from the supermarket and rub them with the sponge. They'll come out fine.

It's been a year, right?

silver rag and then try polish...

i have an old flute cloth that i use to clean all my silver jewelry - works like a charm...

Same thing happened to me! I returned mine though.

I'm an idiot. I thought I was getting a great deal. Now I know why. I hate giving them a gift that I know will tarnish.

Looks like that was a waste of $$$!!!

if they are silver they have a liquid silver cleaner that you can dip them in. i know fortuoff sells it but i am sure that you can get it other places. it works really well for jewelery and it is much easier than the polish.

You can get a silver polishing cloth at almost any jewelry store. It works great - you can see all the black left on the cloth. You don't need any cream or polish - just the cloth.

I use the liquid that you dip it in also. It works great. No rubbing you just dip it in for 10 secs and then rinse it off and it looks like new! It comes in a grey jar and I think it's made by Conosseiurs (sp?). I actually bought it in Rite Aid.
