How far in advance do you schedule a tasting? Also, who did you bring with you? I hear that the parents should attend but neither my FI's parents or my parents can go. Can I bring 2 BMs and 2 groomsmen?
Thanks!!

Re: Tasting Question?
I did mine 12 months before the wedding... that was just to shut my fmil up b/c she kept asking me if the food was good and complaining if it was crap that we shouldnt even be bothering b/c people will be so dissapointed anyway i know its odd but everyone wanted to go with us!!! in the end it wound up being me my fh, fil's and fbil and fsil. I felt so bad but we tipped the waited really well. thank g-d the food was AWSOME and I havent heard a peep from her about it since!
eta - just call them and ask! My hall told us we could bring as many people as we wanted as long as we gave them 24 hours notice to how many it would be

Re: Tasting Question?
parents are one thing, but i don't know how thrilled a venue would be to prepare a bunch of food for BMs and GMs...
is this a free tasting? have you already booked the venue?
call em up and ask...

Re: Tasting Question?
When we went to look at our hall we were invited to a tasting. I think most places invite you to one early so that you can incoroperate how the food is into your decision.
We were allowed to have six people... so we each brought our parents. You can bring whoever you want... YUM!

Re: Tasting Question?
I was invited to a tasting the day I called for info......they don't have them all the time so I guess she wanted to get me in there. I am glad we did it. We went alone, but we are older and are paying for everything ourselves. Not getting anyone else involved in any of the decision making, thank you! ALthough mom ALWAYS has a comment...

Re: Tasting Question?
They have our tastings usually 3 months before the wedding but I think they are moving it up sooner because they are so booked this summer. It doesn't bother me We are allowed 4 other people besides us. We are bringing both sets of parents
