okay i'm under a fake name because my girls come on here sometimes.
my mom is very old fashioned and i just realized that 3 of my bridesmaids have tatoos, 2 on their arm, 1 has it on her back and 1 has it on her top breast..our dresses are spagetti straps and they will all definitely show..how do i break this to my mom..she's going to have a fit about it!!!!

My friend, (one of the bridesmaids) has one too, right on her shoulder near the strap and it shows a little. But people have them, so do I just not in a noticeable spot, like hers. I never said anything about it, because it is reflecting her and if she doesn't care if it shows up, then cool (like I purposely got it on my lower back, so no one could see it when I was wearing my wedding dress). It is your wedding, I wouldn't worry about if your mom finds out. My mom knew and I really didn't care. But if it bothers you personally, I would have them wear a shawl, all of them, so one doesn't feel singled out because she has a tattoo. Or you can buy a dress with a thick strap like I did.

I really wouldn't say anything to my mom. I had a BM with tattoos showing and I'm sure there were people that didn't care for it, but, it's not their wedding or their bridesmaid. If you mention it to your mom beforehand, it'll give her the opportunity to protest where she really doesn't have a say anyway.

first of all its YOUR wedding day. if you feel comfortable about them showing their tattoo's just leave it alone....i am sure that you mom will understand...i hope.

personally, I do not think your mom should get upset over other girls having tatoos... people have the right to do what they want to their body and I dont think anyone else has a right to judge them... I don't even know it this is an issue that needs to be brought up with your mom...

if you're that uncomfortable see if they would be willing to wear a shawl..just don't tell them why..lol
