Re: tatoos

Some people like the tattoo showing but if you want to cover it up then get the tattoo cover up kit...its this make-up, kind of like a foundation you can over up...Mine wont show so i am not worried about it.

I have 2 that will show a rose on my sholder and a tribal heart wrapped around my arm. I am covering the one on my arm cause its not to lady like. I thought it was 11 years ago but we all make mistakes. Just wish i would have not put it on my arm. If you want ot hide it most make up artists carry cover up for them. Also i you want i found it somewhere online i could try ot find it for you. just let me know if i can help out!

Since you're asking 'will it look tacky', I say NO!

If you want them to show, go for it. I have a lot of tattoos and I love mine and was happy to show them & didn't cover mine. If you feel you want them covered or think they're tacky, then cover them. It's a personal choice.

I have a large cmpass star in between my shoulder blades and there is not one picture where you even see it.

I have one on my wrist and one on my forearm and one on th einside of my bicep, but I loved having them in pictures.

ETA: your makeup artist can use airbrush makeup on it which should cover it well and not rub off if you choose to cover it.

Re: tatoos

I have several tattoos and i wasn't worried about covering them up. They are mine for life. Plus when I was in a wedding a couple of years ago the bride asked me to cover up my tattoos and because I am so pale it wouldn't work. the lightest shade of dermablend was still too dark and I think it looked funny.

I don't think it's tacky at all to be able to see your tattoos. IMO it's part of who you are... but there are definitely ways to cover them up if you want to.

Re: tatoos

thats honestly only a question YOU can answer. if you feel confident and comfortable enough for them to show. if you're worried what people are gonna think of it, screw them. who cares? honestly. i'm not gonna cover up my tattoos (plus it would be pretty damn hard unless i wore a long sleeve dress and im not into that, a pic of my tattoos is on my main profile thing)) because its a part of me. its who i am and i chose to have them for a reason. i could never cover them. i dont wanna be someone else on my wedding day. just me

if you wanna see a great example of how tattoos can look hot on brides, take a look at beavis' wedding pictures. she looked absolutely gorgeous with her tattoos showing.good luck and make a decision you're comfortable with.

i have a star tattoo between my shoulder blades.
i am not going to go out of my way to cover it up.

i got it because it was something i wanted. my parents are fine with it.
FH's family knows I have it.

a few of the older people in my family dont like it.

I planned on wearing my hair down anyway, and by the time the wedding comes it will be long enough to be covering the tattoo for the most part.

so basically the decision is up to you, and how you feel.

mine will be semi-covered but i am not going out of my way to make sure no one sees it.

Re: tatoos

As everyone says its really up to you. I may have a tattoo actually by the time I get married on my back. Don't know yet. But I can say one of my bridesmaids is covered neck down even feet in tatts. Althought I am having floor length dresses and given them a jacket I am not requiring my bm to 'cover' up I picked her because I want her there.

The only thing I did ask was for her to take her septum ring out for pics but she can wear it anytime during the wedding outside of ceremony and formal pics because of my family having issues with that. They HATED me for having my own sept ring in and i have sinced stopped wearig it because honestly i look like a cow IoI

But going back to original poster do what you think is best. If you need to get some fixing up work done on it due to age/fading then do it now so its healed. I know my FH is doing this before the wedding because one of his arms is so bad because he had it done 14 years ago and its been in the sun.

If you do want to cover them, I second Dermablend! My makeup artist recommended it, I bought some and it's amazing, you dab it on and you cannot see the tattoo at all

Re: tatoos

I have one on my shoulder blade that I absolutely hate and would like to get it removed before the wedding, but in the interest of not having yet another expense I will probably use the Dermablend - one question for those who have used it: does it run or bleed at all? I don't want to have makeup on my dress or veil!!

If you're self conscious about it, you can cover it up...

Re: tatoos

I dont think its tacky at all. I have 4 tattoos and only one of them would be visible to people. According to my faith, I am not supposed to have them - though many argue against that idea.

I opted not to cover up with a kit because I know I would be worried about sweating the make up off or that it could have an effect in the pictures. I would not have been comfortable - I would have been obsessive and unable to enjoy my evening. So I did the only thing I knew to do - cover it with the dress:
