OK so when I was younger I got a tattoo on my shoulder...and now I am thinking I wnat to get it removed. I want to wear a strapless wedding gown...and I know that there is makeup to cover it up. But I also heard that there are products..like creams that you can put on it for a certain amount of time...and the tattoo fades and disappears... I was just wondering if anyone else has used products like this and can recommend something?? From what I've read most of them take 6-8 months and i have over a year... So please let me know if anyone can help! Thanks so much!!

Re: tattoo question...
I never heard of a cream.
But I know of the laser removal. It works 'somehow' from what I saw. It kind of left a scar. I am not sure if this is just on the girls that I saw or if someone has had good experience with the laser.

Re: tattoo question...
I have never heard of any products that remove tats, just cover ups. If you get a tattoo removed it is rather costly and takes many treatments before it 'disappears'.

i never heard of any cream... i am facing the same problem. when i was 17, i got a tattoo of a daisy (looks more like a sunflower..fh laughs) and i want it removed. but with all wedding expenses i'll probably end up buying the makeup to cover it... but let me know if u get any positive responses about that cream!

its seriously not worth it at all (and i would never trust any kind of cream that takes a tattoo off of your body. a tattoo is layers and layers under your skin and its just not safe) my aunt Hallowedding got it done i think maybe twice. its still noticeable. you need to go with the procedure for awhile and its REALLY expensive. why not cover it up with something better? that'll cost probably half less than getting it removed. maybe more!

Re: tattoo question...
I've heard the cream advertised but don't know anyone that actually used it. I have to doubt somehow that a cream could remove a tatoo, laser removal is probably the only effective way to do it. I'd talk to a dermatologist before trying anything.
If you just want it not to show for your wedding day but don't generally dislike it, better to find a way to cover it rather than go thru removal process I think.

Re: tattoo question...
I have heard of 'wrecking balm' - thats a cream.... I heard a commercial on a sirius ad....
Honestly, I wouldn't trust a cream - it's probably designed to burn your skin off and I'm sure that in addition to not completely working, it would lead to scarring more than a laser would. Laser tattoo removal works by the laser breaking up pigment (tattoo ink) deep within the skin. The only way it would leave scar is if you don't take care of the scab (keep it moist!!!) and new skin that is underneath.
I have had three laser tattoo removal sessions so far, and my tattoo went from a bright solid black to a very dull speckled light grey. Overall, it will take me just under a year to have it totally disappear, but I think it's totally worth it.
FM me for any more info.

Re: tattoo question...
My FH sister decided to remove one of her tattoos. It was large, like her whole shoulder area. It cost her $15,000 ( know this because FMIL complains all the time, she paid half). It looks like a VERY light scar. Like when she tans, that area doesn't tan. She's SO HAPPY with the results, though. Airbrush makeup will cover it well. I personally would not use a cream, I would not trust that. I am waiting until they get a better, cheaper method.

Re: tattoo question...
I'm in the process of removing a shoulder tattoo and it was not completely gone for the wedding day, and I've been getting laser treatments for over 7 months or so.
I had my makeup artist cover it up, but it was not covered as well as I wanted to to be. Also, remember not to powder the area, powder absorbs light, were bare skin reflects it, with flash photography, you will see a patch of lightness in the area. I'm going to ask my photographer to airbrush out the pics I want in my albums so you can't see it.

Re: tattoo question...
I've never heard of such products and I am very skeptical that they actually work, If you rally hate it then just get it removed with lazer. I hear it is painful though.... XOXOXO Kitty

Re: tattoo question...
haven't heard of that , but if you're concerned for your big day I have the ideal stuff!!!! I do theatre and for a showcase I did my friend had to cover up a BLACK tribal tattoo.... one on her back, one on her arm & one on her leg!!! She went to this place called Rick's in the city (although any costume place like Rongo's should have it) and picked up 'Dermablend' ..... she used concealer first that matched her skin (the person at the counter helped her with this mind u) and then applied the matching dermablend....YOU WOULD NEVER KNOW SHE HAD EITHER A TATTOO OR MAKEUP....ANYWHERE. It was amazing. If you can't find the creams & ointments your looking for, I would DEFINETLY go for this. It's awesome & REALLY works.
