When you go for your make-up trial, ask your artist if she can cover it. I believe most can.
Any professional make up artist you hire should be able to help you cover that up. As an alternative to that, I've seen cover up made for the specific purpose of covering tattoos
If it bothers you, a makeup artist should be able to airbrush over it. Honestly, I don't think that it would be gaudy at all. I also have one on my back and I have no plans of covering it. It's over 10 years old and a little faded, so if anything, I'm going to have it recolored to match my wedding colors!

i was worrying about the same thing... but i saw tattoo coverup somewhere on the internet so thats out there as an option but i'm going to see what i could do with a makeup artist first
If it were me, I got the tattoo for a reason and even on my wedding day I wouldn't cover it. But if you do want to cover it...they have like big band-aid type things made to cover up your tattoo. I can't remember where, but I came across them on one of the wedding sites. I would just do a search for them.

Ah, okay. Because if you still love it, then it's a part of who you are and I don't think you should cover it just to fit in with the idea of a traditional pure bride in white, etc. etc. But if it was a youthful indescretion... then yeah, make up should do it. I know other brides here have mentioned it before - try asking the 06'ers, they're all married already and I'm sure at least one of them had a tattoo covered by makeup.
i have 3 one on my right shoulder one on my lower back and one on my calf the the shoulder im not too conserned bout cause its part of who i am and my dress is cap sleeves
i have over 8 tattoos on my back and 5 on my arms and im not covering them up..FH says he will be furious with me if i do..he says its me..and if i cover them up its not who i really am..i also have my lip pierced and im not taking tha tout either..i wouldnt cover anything up unless you are ashamed of it..its who you are now..JMO

I don't have as many tat's as you but the ones I do have are LARGE and very visible (one takes up the entirety of my upper left arm). I also have a monroe and stretched lobes (which really bugs the crap out of mom!!she thinks I won't be able to find 'wedding earrings'.)
I'm not taking out or covering up anything either.....like you said, it's who I am and I wouldn't have put it there if it didn't mean something to me. I'm proud of my ink, it's my 'Life Experience Collection'....so lame but so true.![]()

I don't have any tatoos, but I have heard people use derma blend (i think that's what it's called)
supposedly works really well if you do decide to cover it.

same here, i have 4 tattoos, all totally visable -i got em when i was 15 and now i am thinking back and am like, what the heck was i thinking!
all the tattoo cover up makeups ive bought do not work OR they rub the makeup EVERYWHERE which is NOT good for a white dress!
Im going to be starting makeup trials this week, lets keep in touch, if i find someone great ill let you know!
