I have a BM's that has a tattoo on top of her left breast it's of a bleeding strawberry with a knife through it dripping blood
I have on on my right shoulder blade it's of a smiling heart
The BM's dresses are strapless
Now I want to ask my BM to cover her's up since it's right in the front and will probably show up in pics. BUT I do not want to cover mines up since it's in the back and not as big as her's
I've asked a couple of people for their opinion about it they said if I am going to ask my BM to cover her's up I should cover mines up too.
I need your advice ladies ..How should I go about asking her?
TIA

Sorry, but I have to agree with the people you asked.. if you ask her to cover hers then you should cover yours too.. or else it wouldnt be fair.. JMHO

Re: Tattoos
hmm....well your the bride. I think a smiling heart is alot more charming than a bleeding strawberry with a knife. And hers is in the front. Yours is in the back. I think you have every right to ask her to cover up hers and keep yours alone.

Re: Tattoos
I think you can ask her in a very non-confrontational way and see how she takes it. Explain to her that she'll be photographed from the front, so that's your concern. But if she says, no, then I'd say leave it alone.
Also, how do you expect her to cover it? Maybe you can compromise and ask her to cover it for pics, but then she can have it uncovered for the reception? Just an idea...don't know if it's practical, though.

Re: Tattoos
I would totally ask to have it covered. If it is my friend (duh she's in the bridal party?), I would have no problem saying 'I love you, I love your tatoo and when we're out hanging I love to see it....but for my wedding pictures would you mind concealing it?'
Are you covering yours at all? That would help if you were, that way you could both have them airbrushed or something.

Re: Tattoos
MMM, well you both have tattoos.
If you ask her to cover up she will say 'How about you?'
Or.
You can just make it mandatory for everyone to wear shawls. That way it looks like you wanted it for everyone.

Re: Tattoos
can you just ask her in passing if she is planning on covering it at all...
or maybe you can ask one of your bridesmaids to mention it to her....
just a thought

Re: Tattoos
I think she can have her tattoo exposed. If you really like one of your wedding photos and want to have it enlarged you can have your photographer photoshop out the tattoo.

ITA...no way to really get around this one. Especially if you have ink too.

I agree...because girls will be girls and something would be said, and that way you know she wont feel singled out :o)

her tattoo won't look pretty in pics. I am sure if you tell her nicely she will not have a problem. You are won't be showing your back in most of the pics, so you should not be concerned. Maybe you can offer to pay for it to get covered?

Re: Tattoos
Disagree:
My two best friends have large pieces in very visible spots. Both have agreed to cover up front of body tattoos as they know there is a time and place for everything.
My one friend has a butterfly on her boob as well and will cover it up for me knowing I dont want tattoos in my wedding photos as the day is not about her decision to get a tattoo.
My other best friend has basically top of arm sleeves and will be wearing a shrug to cover them.
Also, the ones on the back arent visible and the same with yours so they arent covering those up.
With that said I love tattoos, think they are awesome - just not in my wedding photos.
Your friend should be understanding as its your wedding day.
