ok i have a question that i think is more common nowadays. at least for my generation (im 20). Ok, tattoos on your wedding day: flaunt them or hide them? I have my share of tats (7 to be exact... itll be 8 by my wedding day) and i dont mind really at all. most of mine are pretty 'hideable' but i am not really worrying about it. i have a pair of pink angel wings on my upper back which will show all the way (they match my dress belt and shoes though!), and depending on how i wear my hair the one on the back of my neck may show, thats ok too (they are chinese symbols that mean' kevin' [my FH]) so i think that ones relevant..... the only one i dont really want to show in pix is the tiny one on the inside of my ankle... but i wanted to know how you all felt.......

well it seems you're really into them and that you don't mind them showing, so i wouldn't worry about the one on your ankle!!!
your tattoos are YOU so why try to hide them?

I agree with azoodie, why hide them? I have one that is going to be hidden, but only b/c my dress will be long so you really won't be able to see my ankle.

Personally, I don't have a problem w/ tatoos BUT - I think there are few ocassions when you should hide them - Your wedding day being one especially if you're going the whole big white dress route ....... But if you want them to show, YOU'RE the bride. - so who cares what anyone else thinks ??

I have been thinking about this alot too. I have a butterfly on my shoulder and it is very symbolic to me so on one hand I want to wear it loud and proud and then I think that to all the guests, they wont know its special to me, its just a butterfly. I will probably not cover it up. Besides, I am afraid of getting the make-up on my veil.

something that may be nice for your butterfly is if you get some type of clear gel, like lipgloss or something like that... then you get really pretty (but not tacky) glitter.... put the glitter on the gel on the tatoo so opefully itll stay and itll sparkle and just be really beautiful and wont look just like a tattoo... i may do that with my angel wings on my back. just a thought
I vote to definately flaunt them your tattoos are a part of who you are and your wedding is suppose to reflect who you are not hide who you are.
I have a tattoo on my upper arm like right below my shoulder and I would'nt dare cover it up on my wedding day. It is a Ank (Egytian Cross) with a rose on it it means Eternal Life some take it as a sign of a woman because we give life. Anyways that is me taht is who I am and plus I love my tattoo it is art work to me and I will not cover it up for anyone.

I think its really up to the individual. I'm not against tattoos or anything- I just don't like mine. I got a tattoo on my ankle when I was 18 (i'm 27 now)It just doesn't fit me. I'm actually going for my 4th laser treatment to have it removed tomorrow.
