Just wondering if anyone has grieved their taxes..Not sure what steps to take..

I know you can hire a lawyer to do it but i think they take half of what you save for the year.
My mom grieved her taxes herself, you definately don't need a lawyer. I think you can call the town hall or something. I live in Brookhaven so i would look on the brookhaven site or Suffolk County site.

you can greive your taxes every year if you feel that they are too high compared to other houses in the area that are the same as yours...You are entitled to greive them every year...It is based on the appraised value & market value...
