Taxes Complaint!

I am just so mad....I got my bonus at work and the government took 42% of it.

That is so UNFAIR!!!

I am very used to paying taxes...it's just 42%....I just thought that was A LOT!

I thought they would take 30-35%...seems more normal...guess I was wrong.

it depends on what you got for your bonus. Your weekly (or bi-weekly) paycheck is based on a 52 year schedule...you get a certian amount each week and they take out taxes acordingly. When yiu get a bonus ( a large sum of money at one time) it looks like you make more (at a weekly level) and therefore higher taxes. I hope that makes sense!!
