My girls are wearing tea length dresses. For a number of reasons, it won't be possible to get them all to the same seamstress for alterations. They are all very different heights and so I'm concerned about the way the dresses will look if they're all different lengths. Should I be concerned about this or does it really matter if their dresses aren't hemmed to the same length. If that were the case, my tallest BM would look like she were wearing a mini skirt and my shortest would look like she were wearing a gown. What to do??

Re: Tea length BM dresses - alteration question
i think as long as they all get it hemmed to the same place on their own body it will be ok. for example, they all get it hemmed to 1 inch above the knee (or whatever).

Re: Tea length BM dresses - alteration question
For my friends wedding last year we all had our dresses hemmed so they came to the same length. It did look nice in pics, but since I was like 5 inches taller than the shortest girl my dress wasn't really tea length and looked a little dumb on me.

I was in a wedding party with tea length (I met FH at the wedding!!!!) It looked fine because they all came the same length on each of us.

I had tea length and it honestly didn't matter to me. Your girls are likely all different sizes and shapes. On one of my friends it was very long on because she needed a larger size for her chest. We had a bubble hem so it wasn't an option to hem it. I wouldn't even worry about it. Here's a pic of what it looks like.

Ditto. That's what we did and everyone looked fine.

I agree with this. this will look the most uniform.

i'm doing tea length for my girls and i didnt even think about them getting it hemmed- i'm sure it will look fine since everyone ordered it in their size it should be Proportionate to their height- i'm not worrying about it.

Re: Tea length BM dresses - alteration question
I was told to have them all hemmed so that the distance from the floor to the bottom of the dress is the same-not so they come to the same place on each girl. This was in pictures, the bottoms of the dresses will all come to the same place. ETA: I am going to have it measured on the tallest girl and base the length on that-this was she isn't wearing a mini skirt.
