Although a lotof morning/day time weddings choose to have bms in tea length gowns, you don't HAVE to! No rules...its your day and you can do it your way!

It's YOUR wedding day so its up to you. There is not right or wrong. only whats right for you. It doesn't matter what MOST people do or don't do. It's your wedding do what you like to do!

I'm having a Saturday night wedding and my bm's will most likely be in tea length. I just like them better and besides... the ceremony and pictures and stuff will take place in the early-mid afternoon. But again, my wedding, my choice!

I do not think there are any rule...why don't you talk to your maid of honor and see how she feels about it? In the end it is really your decision.

If you want them long, get long dresses. I don't think anyone is traditional these days.

I have the opp. my mom says I have to have them in gowns which is fine with my but my wedding is a Sat. night.

It is your day so do what you want. Maybe you can find a compromise. Do 3/4 dress :)

i think its a personal choice really ... but i absolutely adore tea length or cocktail length ... i also think your idea of putting the BMs in the tea length and MOH in full length is really cute 2 ... honestly i think ur mom means well but in the end it is ur day and u have to be happy and know that you did what you wanted to do ... good luck

Exactly!

I'm doing a winter Sunday afternoon wedding where my BMs are wearing tea lengths and it's a formal wedding. Totally doesn't match any of the rules, but it's my wedding. I'll do what I want!

I say do what you want. I am getting married in early july day wedding, and I don't want the girls to wear gowns b/c I don't want them to be hot. But if all you can find is gowns that you like, I say go for it!!
I hope you stop arguing soon

Re: tea length or gown?

A cple of my girls told me in advance they hate tea length...Im doing knee length..more of a party dress. My MOH is very tall and she wants tea length but the others chose knee length.

If you want a gown go for it...there are no rules!

there are no rules, although i think it would look weird (in a bad way) to have MOH in long and the others in short.

i'm getting married on a sunday afternoon in aug, and my girls are wearing long. i personally dont think tea-length is flattering (i prefer knee length or long) and i wanted it to be a little more formal and elegant as opposed to casual. i went with a very very lightweight fabric which balances it out.

do what YOU want! i'd just say stay away from something like velvet
