Teacher activity question

we are having a 'carnival' for our kids on friday and my class is making 'crazy hats'. Any suggestions on how to make them. I already have newspaper, and brown paper bags..what else can i use as a base??

Paper plates, punch holes in the sides and tie strings so they can tie them under their chin.
