Do you think the Dept./Bd. of ed will close schools on Wednesday?

Well, this is my second year teaching, and I work in a private school, so we can do whatever we want and never lose days off vacations! Woohoo! hopefully there will be no school.

The NYC bd of ed I heard needs 10 or more inches of snow to close. I've been working in the schools for 7 years now and i think we did get off once for 2 straight days. The last chance we would have had off, was last Feb for Presidents week and we were already off. Typical!(during that big blizzard)

Lori are you serious!?!?!?! What if the storm misses like the one we were supposed to have Wed? Do you lose any vacation days?

I highly doubt the Dept. of Ed in NYC will close. I must be in the minority here, but I don't want school to close tomorrow because it's Regents Week (in the high schools) and the seniors have a huge exam tomorrow. It would be a DISASTER to have school closed tomorrow! They worked so hard for 1 1/2 years to do well on the American History Regents - I want them to take this exam tomorrow!

However, I wouldn't mind a huge storm next week.

Julybaby, I also work in a HS where the students have Regents tomorrow. What will happen if the schools upstate and LI are closed? NYC HS students can't take the regents then. There will be major cheating going on. Do you think if they close the LI and upstate schools, they will close the NYC schools?? I know it's a FAT CHANCE!!!

Well, yesterday they were saying we were definitely cancelled.....then today they changed their tune i still think school will be cancelled.....
cross those fingers....i need a day off to rest and get rid of this darn cold!!!
