what are you getting your students? I was planning on going to the $1.00 and picking up some pencils, erasers, and whatever else cheap but when you add it all up it is like 50 bucks at the dollar store. Any suggestions?

Re: Teachers...
Hi. I had bought boxes of colored pencils in September @ TARGET for 25 cents each. I always buy somethings then and store them for the holiday. I will wrap them and give them with something sweet to my 1st graders. (I let them use colored pencils in Januray and they love using them.)

Re: Teachers...
i would not consider myself a teacher, but my title is 'lead teacher' for a toddler class at a local tutortime childcare center. i found playdough in 10 mini canisters that are held in a clear candycane shaped container. i got one each for my 13 kiddies at $2.99 each from target. so yeah, $50 bucks in playdough lol. but i think i will make out good with gifts from parents. ~lacey

Wow! This is some great stuff. I have first graders. We are having a Polar Express party (book of the month at my school) I am bringing in fruit and veggie platters. The gifts are great and I like the bood idea but I will have to see if I can get them something good at the local dollar stores. I also have to get something neutral, not christmas like. You know everything must be so PC these days. Thanks for the great ideas teachers....Enjoy your vacation coming up soon...we should do a GTG over the break. I know I am so ready for our vacation and need a little R n' R.
