Nope....I had a message today from a woman with the nycboe saying (in a tone), Are you still interested in working with us because you never set up a time for an interview. But, I never got a call saying that an interview was a possibility. I'm thinking I'm not interested in the city though.

Re: teachers
if you're a young, mostly inexperienced teacher, don't give up hope yet. schools tend to hire experienced candidates for probationary positions early in the hiring season. during mid to late summer, they start calling newer teachers for leave replacements and positions that experienced teachers left to take those other jobs.
my point is be patient i know it's frustrating.

Re: teachers
I got a job in a private special ed school, but have an interview tomorrow night for a public school- just incase. The $$ in the private schools is horrible, but it will be my first teaching job so I am taking what I can get!

Re: teachers
If you are interested in a part time teaching job, you should go to www.kaptest.com, they are hiring SAT teachers right now. Anyone can teach the SAT, especially after a year or two of college. You can teach the math, verbal and writing in a classroom environment or you can do one on one tutoring and specialize in one of the subjects. The pay starts at $20/hr and they have losts of locations throughout Nassau and Suffolk. They are also looking for GRE, GMAT, MCAT, LSAT and DAT teachers. I work for them, and I can answer any questions if you may have. It is a really great company to work for.
