Teachers and certification

Teachers and certification

Did anyone ever have to file for an extension on their provisional certification? My certification runs out in Feb. and I am still waiting for my CST results. I also sent out my video Thursday morning...(I Know I waited to the last minute) and for what ever reason no one was there to receive today(the deadline). UPS left a message but I don't know if they will except it or not. So I think I better file for an extension or renewal to cover my butt.

I am not a 100% positive, but I think I remember hearing that they only give extensions for major illness or childbirth and rearing.

With that being said, I know that there was a teacher in my department and she let her provisional lapse (she really didn't want to teach anymore and left after that year) anyway the district got the extension on her behalf. But I would contact Boces to double check on Monday.

Thank you for the information. I think I can also renew my provisional I was reading about it on the internet.

Danielle,
I think you need to call their monday morning and tell them the video was shipped thursday morning and that no one was there to accept the package when the item was dropped off. Tell them that a notice was left ...for them from the United States Postal Service.
I dont think they should give you a problem, the video was delivered on time, they just werent there to accept it.
I can only imagine how much snow they got upstate. I am sure that had plenty to do with it.
