teachers - grad school question

if you get your bachelors in education and take your tests and get certified.. do you have to get your masters within five years of getting your bachelors? and can your masters be in something else?

i don't get it.

yes, you do have to get your master's within 5 years. You can apply for an extension if you don't finish in time. I think the Master's can be in anything at all, as long as you are already certified. Call your local uft to double check though.

you have to get your master's within 5 years of when you start teaching; when you get a permanent position

I think it depends on your program. I know I had five years to finish my masters, tests etc. but I thought there were new requirements. Log on here to find out about your specifics.
